Tim & Our Story
The Birth of the Rope Rescuers: A Mission for Sustainability
It all started with a climbing rope - we called it Tim. It had already experienced so much and had so many memories attached to it and without it so many experiences and views would have remained unattainable. But at some point its time as a safety rope was over. A faithful companion that was now to be disposed of - that didn't feel right.
Why give up on a material that still has so much potential? This is exactly where our vision was born: to give ropes and other climbing equipment a second chance and at the same time do something for the environment.
A new cycle is created
Disused climbing ropes, harnesses and carabiners do not have to be waste, but resources with potential. We use them to create unique products - from chalk bags to belts and accessories. What once climbed heights becomes a long-lasting companion in everyday life.
A movement is growing
What started with a few ropes quickly grew. Climbing gyms, private individuals and our partners joined in and the rope rescue movement was born. Together we collect used equipment - from climbing harnesses to paragliders - and bring it back into circulation.
NEWSEED today
NEWSEED stands for circularity and reuse. Our goal is to create sustainable products that connect climbing and the environment. Each product tells a story - from the heights and challenges the material has experienced to its new life in your hands.
Join in – become a rope rescuer!
By donating rope or buying our products, you are actively contributing to saving old materials and creating something new. Together we are setting an example for sustainability and giving used resources a future.

“And there is magic in every beginning…”
The ideas just bubbled up, and with each new product the enthusiasm grew. I made the first pieces myself in the living room, in small batches and with great attention to detail. But as soon as something was finished, it was already sold out - an exciting start to something very special.

The caddy is a bit lower, right?
I'll make something out of it
This passion for collecting drove everything forward. In the end, we drove with a – admittedly probably overloaded – caddy, packed to the ceiling with ropes, to the Lebenshilfe workshops. There, our products are still manufactured with a lot of passion today.

the rest is thrown away
clearing out the basement
But a caddy full wasn't all that was collected in the first year. About a tonne of climbing rope was still stored in the basement - ready for a new life. Here you can see how some of it is loaded onto the truck to begin its journey to recycling.

Our production
We searched for a long time to find the right partners. But we found them and couldn't have imagined it would be better. Find out here who produces the products and what steps are necessary to turn an old rope into a new product...
