for a greener future
To this end, we work with the non-profit organization “Eden Reforestation Projects” www.edenprojects.org . For every order, we pay the amount needed to plant a tree to the reforestation project, which was founded in 2004.
Eden Reforestation is primarily concerned with reforesting destroyed or deforested landscapes and creating new jobs. Through reforestation, they help to secure the habitat of animals and plants, restore regular rainfall, increase water levels and water quality, and improve the quality of the soil. In addition, trees absorb climate-damaging CO2 and limit erosion and flooding. The whole thing not only has a positive effect on nature, but also has a major impact on people. Reforestation creates new jobs, boosts the local economy, optimizes education for children, and increases crop yields.
Where are trees planted? By whom? Which ones?
Eden Reforestation Projects reforests forests in Nepal, Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique and Kenya.
To this end, national leaders work with villages that are committed to
work to restore their forests.
Local villagers are hired and trained to plant new, native trees. If there are no trees, local agriculture is no longer possible because the soil turns into a desert. This leads to famine, which ultimately forces the villagers to move away. The organization works to counteract this process.
Only native tree species are planted, which vary from country to country.
