A new life for climbing ropes
Why are climbing ropes thrown away?
At some point even the most durable material will suffer and since the climber's life depends on the rope, ropes are replaced. Sometimes because you can see obvious signs of wear and tear and sometimes because of age. Sometimes just one spot is enough to have to replace the whole rope. Better safe than sorry.
Why is it so important to recycle climbing rope?
Climbing rope is made of polyamide, which cannot be recycled in this form. Climbers are left with nothing but the general waste bin. We also send the smallest scraps of each rope for recycling, as we collect large quantities of them separately.
What makes climbing rope upcycling so special?
Climbing ropes are extremely robust and durable. The material has a wonderful feel and there are countless colors and patterns.
